Was the iphone 5 really worth all of the wait ? What is so great about the new one?
One of the first and most obvious differences on the new iphone is the larger screen size. Apple increased the length of their screen but did not increase the width so that all iphone users can still comfortably hold their phone in the palm of their hand.
The second obvious major difference is the back of the iphone. It now has an elegant two-tone color on the back giving it a brushed metal look.
The new iphone is also 18% thinner. This is something that all users can expect considering every time apple comes out with a product it is alwasy “thinner”.
Another major difference is the new A6 processor. This new quad-core processor makes the iphone scream. This beast phone will make all downloads and web surfing seemingly flawless. It even has enough power to potentially run most Xbox 360 games at full speed(if it was possible).
With this new processing power, it could be an open platform for app developers to take their games and all other apps to the next level. With the inclusion of the new LTE chip, the iphone 5 will be able to download apps even faster than the surrounding wifi network that it’s on.
Like many people expected the camera is supposedly better. It is still an 8 megapixel camera. However, apple says that it has better optic capabilities. There are also some cool new features with the camera such as the new panorama picture option. Iphone users will now be able to take extremely wide panoramic photos on their iphone’s. This gives users the capability to capture even more of their surrounding environment making their pictures more realistic and memorable.
Of course, anything software related is all thanks to the new ios 6.
One of the main updates in ios 6 is the maps. For the first time Apple has a turn by turn navigation using the voice from Siri. For the first time in history a maps feature allows users to see a real 3D city. Google maps has had a realistic feature like this for years. However, this new feature is not realistic it is real. All of the 3D city pictures are real pictures. You can now zoom in-between building and see what the city really looks like and see what surrounds the city.
Apple also finally improved their front facing camera. So now face time conversation is even more realistic. This is not the only new feature for the the actual “phone” part of the iphone.
The iphone 5 now has three microphones making the iphone not only a great phone but also a great device to capture sound in general and maybe even record music pretty decently. Their is also a totally new noise cancellation feature that is located near the top of the phone giving users an even more crystal clear conversation.
These are just a few of the highlights on the new iphone 5. Overall it is a great phone that is definitely worth the $.
